A large not-for-profit organisation engaged us to investigate escalating psychosocial hazards within a specialist team. Applying the positive duty principles under the Model WHS laws, we conducted a forensic review of workplace psychosocial hazards, using scientific psychological testing and data gathering to ensure findings were evidence-based and defensible.
Within eight weeks, our investigation identified the drivers of a hostile and unsafe team environment. Clear, data-backed findings enabled the organisation to act decisively, removing risks to staff wellbeing and fulfilling their duty of care.
Follow-up three months later confirmed marked improvements in team morale, productivity, and operational stability. This case demonstrates reframing psychosocial safety beyond compliance and legal risk mitigation, supporting organisations to actively create safer, healthier workplaces.
